“Raised By Eagles’ songs are the kind you fall in love with at the first listen and then endlessly trawl bars and venues across Melbourne to be near again. This is no crush. This is a great, enduring romance” – LIZ STRINGER
"Raised by Eagles opened for us on our national tour in 2017. I watched 'em every night and was taken in by their wide eyed commitment to their craft. It's a sound that's intense yet personal and sentimental. Their music soars and meanders, takes you to familiar places you've never been. To call them alt-country only tells half the story" - MICK THOMAS
"I got to jump in the van and play some shows with Raised By Eagles in Sydney and Maitland, and such proximity gave me an insight into a few facts: they can pack and drive a van real good, they're bloody funny, and they have a wonderful 'greater than the sum of the parts' chemistry on stage - they look and listen out for each other as they lean on their glorious songs, and are thus a magnificent thing to behold – punchy, tender, sad, joyous and inspiring" - CHARLES JENKINS
Raised By Eagles' entrance onto Melbourne’s musical landscape in July 2013 immediately garnered the attention of Americana music aficionados across the country, their debut release scoring the band a nomination at the Age Music Victoria Awards that year for ‘Best Country Album’.
Since then, continually raw and captivating performances have cemented Raised By Eagles’ reputation as one of Melbourne’s most sought after independent acts. They released their widely acclaimed follow-up LP Diamonds In the Bloodstream in May 2015 which bagged a slew of award nominations and went on to win 'Best Country Album' and 'Best Emerging Artist' at the Age Music Victoria Awards. It also scored them an invitation from the prestigious Americana Music Festival in Nashville Tennessee, where they delivered a stellar run of international shows before returning home to begin 2016. After a big year on the Australian festival circuit which included Port Fairy Folk Festival, Bigsound, Bello Winter Music Festival and Dashville Skyline the band took a break to start writing and recording their third album, 'I Must Be Somewhere'. Released in May 2017, it scored a hasty four stars in Rolling Stone Australia and won them 'Best Country Album' again, at the Age Music Victoria Awards 2017. I Must Be Somewhere is available now through ABC Music and at all good record stores.
